Our critical, irreplaceable contribution is the American-made battery and the storage that makes every other source firm, dispatchable, and deliverable. Storage is the link that turns an all-of-the-above mix into a reliable grid.
Making Power Firm and Deliverable
An electron is only useful when it arrives where it's needed, at the moment it's needed. Generation — whether from a solar array at noon, a wind farm overnight, or a baseload nuclear plant — must be stored, balanced, and transmitted before it becomes power a home, factory, or data center can actually use. Stage 05 is where raw generation is transformed into reliable, round-the-clock power.
This stage is the connective tissue of the value chain. It absorbs the variability of renewable sources, holds energy until demand peaks, and moves it across the country through the wires and substations of the grid. Without firming, storage, and transmission, the most abundant generation in the world stays stranded.
Battery Energy Storage (BESS)
American-made cells, integrated into containerized battery energy storage systems (BESS), are the workhorse of grid firming. They smooth the output of variable solar and wind, shift midday surplus into evening peak hours, and deliver fast-response grid services — frequency regulation, peak-shifting, and backup power — that keep the system stable.
The path from a single cell to a deployed asset follows our cell-to-container architecture, in which cells are assembled into modules, racks, and standardized 2.82 MWh containerized blocks. Every block is governed by the American BMS, which manages charge, safety, and performance while logging operational data for the life of the asset.
Long-Duration & Pumped Hydro
Lithium-ion BESS is exceptional from seconds to a few hours, but the grid also needs storage that spans hours to days. Pumped-storage hydropower — moving water uphill when power is cheap and releasing it through turbines when demand spikes — remains the largest form of grid storage in America and covers the long-duration end of the spectrum that batteries alone cannot economically reach.
The full duration spectrum: grid firming is a layered problem. Sub-second to minutes is handled by inverters and fast battery response; minutes to several hours by lithium-ion BESS; and hours to multiple days by pumped hydro and emerging long-duration technologies. A resilient grid needs every band of this spectrum working together — no single technology covers it all.
The Grid Itself
Storage is only half the equation; the wires matter just as much. America faces a transmission build-out challenge: clogged interconnection queues that delay new projects, a national shortage of large power transformers, and the need for grid-forming inverters that let inverter-based resources stabilize the grid the way spinning machines once did. Modernizing and hardening this infrastructure — for resilience against extreme weather and for the surging demand of electrification — is central to grid and BESS deployment.
Powering Critical Loads
A firm, storage-backed grid exists to serve the loads that depend on it. That increasingly means the explosive power demand of AI data centers, the everyday reliability needs of homes and buildings, and the absolute-uptime requirements of defense and mission-critical sites. Each of these is best served when generation, storage, and grid controls work as one coordinated system.
Operational Traceability
Firm power is not only about hardware — it's about knowing what each asset is doing. Throughout its operational life, every storage system streams data through the American BMS.
